1st Winter Percussion and Winter Guard Competition at Rodriguez High School - 5000 Red Top Road, Fairfield.  Call time TBA in front of PGHS.  Driving directions: From our school, go to Hwy 99 or I-5 northbound and take the ramp for San Francisco (I-80 westbound).  Proceed on I-80 about 43 miles; watch for the Red Top Road exit (after the 680 turn-off).  Turn left off the exit onto Red Top Road and proceed to Watt Dr.  Turn left on Watt Dr. and right into the spectator's parking lot.  Oakbrook Drive is likely to be coned off.  If you have equipment, go all the way to Lopes Rd. and make a U-turn to access the trailer parking lot.  TRAVEL TIME IS minimum 66 MINUTES.

Festival Jazz Band to perform at the Woodcreek High School Jazz Festival in Roseville.  Call time TBA at Woodcreek HS.  Performance is mandatory for all Festival Jazz Band members.  Dress is ALL BLACK concert attire - no exceptions!  Men must wear a tie.   There is an admission charge (performers are free) of ~$5.00, which will get you into all performances that day.  *Don't forget to bring home your instrument on Friday!

 

Driving directions:  Take Hwy 99 to I-80 (Reno). Take exit #102 Riverside Ave./Auburn Blvd. and go toward Roseville/Riverside Ave.  Get into the left lane right away and take the next left on Cirby Way.  Turn right on Foothills Blvd., then left on Baseline Road.  Turn right on Woodcreek Oaks Blvd.  The school will be on the left @ 2551 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd.  Driving time is approximately 45 minutes from Elk Grove.  Click here for map.

Jazz Band performance for Academic Awards Night.  Call time 6:00 p.m. @ PGHS band room.  Dressy black concert attire.  Performance from 6:30-7:00 p.m.  For students who are attending the ceremony, please take your instrument back to the band room before joining your classmates in the gym.  Those not attending the ceremony will be dismissed at 7:15.  Ceremony should conclude by 8 p.m.

Albiani Concert Band - EGUSD Middle School Band Festival -Attendance is mandatory unless by prior arrangement with Mr. Souliere.  Remember to bring home your instrument on Friday.  Call time TBA at Harriet Eddy Middle School. 

 

This is a great opportunity to hear other middle school bands from the district so we encourage you to stay and watch other groups.  

 

Group photos will be taken after each performance.  (choice of serious pose and/or funny).  If you would like to purchase either of these, please send money with your student to order.  There will also be a professional recording made of the band's performance.  CD's can be purchased and must be pre-ordered as a group.

Marching band and Color Guard - Elk Grove Western Festival Parade.  Full uniform (don't forget your hat!).  Call time is 9:00 a.m. at the corner of School Street and Locust Street.  The parade steps off at 10 a.m. at the corner of School Street and Elk Grove Blvd, and end at Elk Grove High School.  So it would be best if you park your car down there before the roads close or make other pickup arrangement.

Chick-Fil-A Dinner Night from 5-8 pm and 20% of your purchase will benefit PGHS percussion.  You do not need to eat in, just go through the drive-thru or sit in, and mention the fundraiser or bring a flyer.  If you come inside we will have a spinning wheel where everyone wins a prize (which is all Chick-Fil-A merchandise or food) with a spin for just a $1; (100% of the proceeds here go to the group).  Hope to see you there!

 Nov. 10 Marching Band - 1st Play-off football game at Sheldon Stadium.  Full uniform with shakos and long black socks!  Call time 6:00 p.m. (5:30 p.m. drumline).  Make sure you pack everything you need for both the game and the parade into the trailer, esp. if you play multiple instruments.  The trailer is not coming back to the school between the two performances.

Band Boosters General Meeting - 7 p.m. PGHS Choir Room - All KAMS, PGHS Band, Colorguard, and Percussion parents invited to attend.  
 Nov. 11Marching band - Veteran's Day Parade.  Call time is 10 a.m. (9:30 a.m. for Drumline).  Meet in the Community Services District parking lot on Elk Grove Blvd. (across the street from Joseph Kerr Middle School).  Be aware that the streets may be closed to traffic at 9:30 a.m. so you may want to be dropped off a little earlier.  Full uniform (Don't forget your hat and black socks that cover your ankles!).  Parade steps off at 11:00 a.m. sharp.

Butter Braid and Coffee orders can be picked up today at the Fall Concert.  The concert is from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in the Black Box Theater.  The Butter Braid must stay frozen until ready to use.  Please be prepared to pick up the frozen pastry and put it in a freezer within the hour, or bring a cooler if you want.  If you cannot make this pick-up time, please contact Carolyn at 947-8562 to arrange an alternate time.

Nov. 25  

Marching Band - Playoff Game (vs. Bethel) at Sheldon Stadium.  Call time 6:30 p.m.  Wear Band shirt/sweatshirt and jeans.  Dress warm!  Be prepared for rain.  Bring towels to dry off instruments and bleachers. 
 Nov. 26Marching band & Colorguard - Parade of Lights.  This performance will include both PGHS and KAMS Marching/Concert Band students.  Call time at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Derr St. and Elk Grove Blvd. (about 1/2 mile west of the Waterman CVS).  Wear your band uniform with a Santa hat instead of your marching hat.  The parade starts at Derr Street and ends at Adams Street.  Tree lighting ceremony is immediately following the parade at Elk Grove Blvd. and Walnut.  Students are encouraged to light their instrument with battery operated strings of lights (available at CVS, Walgreens and Michaels).  See the Home page for more instructions.  Parade steps off at 6 p.m.

Festival Jazz Band - Combined concert with Wooster High School from Reno.  Call time 6:00 p.m.  in Band Room.  Concert at 7:00 p.m. in Black Box Theatre.  This is an opportunity to hear our Jazz Band perform their competition piece before Folsom Jazz Festival.

The Jazz Combo will be playing at Folsom Lake College at 4:30 p.m.  Warm-up at 4:00 p.m.  There is an admission charge for parents/chaperones of $12/person--no exceptions.  This includes admittance to all venues (at Folsom Lake College and at Rolling Hills Christian Church) as well as noon and evening concerts.  Student performers will be admitted free of charge and are invited to attend noon clinics, noon and evening concerts.  Dress is all black concert attire - no exceptions!  Men must wear a tie.  Go to www.folsommusic.org for more information about the event.  Driving time is about 35 minutes from the PGHS campus.  Click here for driving directions.
