Marching band - 1st home football game @ Sheldon Stadium (vs. MTHS). Call time 6 p.m.  (5:30 p.m. for Drumline).  Don't forget to put your instruments into the trailer after 4th period and bring home your uniform (including hat!).  Label those uniforms!

Band Picture Day - You'll need to have your full uniform (minus the hat) at school.  Don't forget black shoes and black socks.  Group, buddy and individual pictures will be taken during 4th period/lunch.  Please fill out the pre-order envelope and have payment enclosed.  Checks are payable to La Verne Gonzales, due on picture day.  Report to the Band Room at the start of 4th period to change!

 Sept. ?? Cold Stone Creamery Night - 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The Waterman Plaza Cold Stone is donating part of the receipts to benefit the Band!  Bring this flyer with you or tell them you're there to support the PG Band. 
 Oct. 2-3   Elk Grove Harvest Festival @ Elk Grove Park.  Drumline will be running game booths and food booths at this festival.    
 Oct.  Fall E-Waste Event - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. @ PGHS Parking lot.  Tell all your friends and family about this event.  Save up all electronic gadgets you're planning to get rid of.  This is one of our main fundraisers for the year and is qualified for either community service hours or student account earnings.

Marching band & Colorguard - Parade of Lights.  This performance will include both PGHS and KAMS Marching/Concert Band students.  Call time at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Derr St. and Elk Grove Blvd. (about 1/2 mile west of the Waterman CVS).  Wear your band uniform with a Santa hat instead of your marching hat.  The parade starts at Derr Street and ends at Adams Street.  Tree lighting ceremony is immediately following the parade at Elk Grove Blvd. and Walnut.  Students are encouraged to light their instrument with battery operated strings of lights in white or red (available at CVS, Walmart, Walgreens and Michaels).  See the Home page for more instructions.  Parade steps off at 6 p.m.

1st Winter Percussion Competition at Rodriguez High School - 5000 Red Top Road, Fairfield.  Call time TBA in front of PGHS.  Driving directions: From our school, go to Hwy 99 or I-5 northbound and take the ramp for San Francisco (I-80 westbound).  Proceed on I-80 about 43 miles; watch for the Red Top Road exit (after the 680 turn-off).  Turn left off the exit onto Red Top Road and proceed to Watt Dr.  Turn left on Watt Dr. and right into the spectator's parking lot.  Oakbrook Drive is likely to be coned off.  If you have equipment, go all the way to Lopes Rd. and make a U-turn to access the trailer parking lot.  TRAVEL TIME IS minimum 66 MINUTES.

Festival Jazz Band to perform at the Woodcreek High School Jazz Festival in Roseville.  Call time 6:00 p.m. so that you can see other bands before we go on.  Warm-up at 7:35 p.m., performance at 8:00 p.m., and clinic at 8:25 p.m.  Performance is mandatory for all Festival Jazz Band members.  Dress is ALL BLACK concert attire - no exceptions!  Men must wear a tie.   There is an admission charge (performers are free) of ~$5.00, which will get you into all performances that day.  *Don't forget to bring home your instrument on Friday!

Albiani Concert Band - EGUSD Band Festival - This is a newly organized band festival for middle school bands in the Elk Grove District.  Albiani is currently scheduled to perform at 10 a.m.  Call time at 9 a.m.  Warm-ups at 9:20.  Attendance is mandatory unless by prior arrangement with Mr. DeWald.  Remember to bring home your instrument on Friday. 

 

This is a great opportunity to hear other middle school bands from the district so we encourage you to stay and watch other groups.  Joseph Kerr Middle School will be performing at 12 noon.  Festival runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Group photos will be taken after the performance.  Bring $18 cash per photo if you want to buy a group photo (choice of serious pose and/or funny).  CD order is $10 cash and must be pre-ordered as a group.

Marching band and Color Guard - Elk Grove Western Festival Parade.  Full uniform (don't forget your hat!).  Call time is 9:00 a.m. at the corner of School Street and Locust Street.  The parade steps off at 10 a.m. at the corner of School Street and Elk Grove Blvd, and end at Elk Grove High School.  So it would be best if you park your car down there before the roads close or make other pickup arrangement.  We are #2 and #3 in the lineup so get there early to see the band perform!  The parade will last about 2 hours.

All Bands Spring Concert and Awards Night-This will be held at the Sheldon High School Performing Arts Center.  Call time no later than 6:30 p.m. for band members.  Attire is spring colors (or concert black attire if you prefer); attire should still be dressy - no jeans or sneakers.  New this year is the Soul Purpose Dance Company will be performing at 6:00 p.m.  Then the Pleasant Grove Winter Percussion Ensemble, Elementary Band, Albiani Middle School Beginning and Concert Bands will take the stage.  Pleasant Grove High School Concert Band and Jazz Band will conclude the evening.  Please come support your students in the Performing Arts Programs at PGHS and KAMS!

 May 17Senior Breakfast in the PGHS MP room.  Senior Graduation Rehearsal after breakfast in the gym - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Attendance is MANDATORY or you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.  
 May 18-20Final Exams.  Minimum Days.   
 May 19

PGHS Graduation Ceremony @ Arco Arena.  Time 7:00 p.m.  PGHS Concert band, with seniors exempted, will be performing for the graduation at Arco Arena.  A district bus is being provided.  Call time 4:30 p.m. at PGHS.  Bus will load and depart for Arco at 4:45 p.m. 


Sober Grad Night to follow for seniors  

 May 19KAMS - 8th Grade Promotion Practice 
 May 20 KAMS 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony - 9 a.m.  Albiani Concert Band will be playing.  Albiani students will be checking their school-owned instruments in after the concert.

DCI West - Drum Corps International show at Stanford Stadium @ 6:30 p.m.  Blue Devils, Blue Devils B and C, Blue Knights, Sacramento Mandarins, Pacific Crest, Revolution, SF Renegades, Santa Clara Vanguard, Vanguard Cadets, and Troopers will be performing.  If we can get a group of 25 or more people to go, ticket price will only be $10 per person.  Carpool may be available.  Contact Jake Tuttle for more information.  You can also go to dci.org for ticket information.

Moonlight Classic - Drum Corps International Competition @ University of Pacific - Stagg Stadium in Stockton.  Event starts at 5:30 p.m.  Concord Blue Devils, Blue Devils B and C, Blue Knights, Sacramento Mandarins, SF Renegades, Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets, and Troopers are performing.  These are great opportunities to see some of the top drum and bugle corps in competition close to home.  General admission $20.  http://www.someinc.com/id4.html
