The Pleasant Grove High School Band is coordinating an event with YNot Recycle to bring Sacramento County residents and businesses an opportunity to recycle their electronic waste.  We will take care of your e-waste for free.

E-waste is the common name for electronic products that have reached the end of their useful life.  Computers, televisions, copiers, mobile phones, and fax machines are common electronic products that make up one of the fastest growing disposal problems in the State of California.  Because of heavy metals and other toxic substances contained in these items, the state has prohibited their disposal in public landfills.  Many municipalities charge a fee per item to pick up these items from homes and businesses because they have to be disposed of in a special manner.

The Pleasant Grove High Band's E-Waste Recycling Event allows any California resident or business to drop off their electronic waste free of charge.  YNot Recycle collects these materials, strips them of their hazardous and toxic components, and recycles all other material.  For every monitor, laptop, television console, or flat screen monitor/television received, YNot makes a cash contribution directly to the Band to help us underwrite band events, trips and other expenses, like music and equipment purchases.  It's a win-win situation for the entire community!

We will also be doing a data shredding event with Rapid Information Destruction (RID) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Only) on the same day.  They will shred your confidential information right in front of you!  Hard drives can also be shredded - limit 10 hard drives per household.  A donation of $5 per box of paper or $5 per hard drive is requested, which will go 100% toward the music programs at Katherine Albiani Middle School and Pleasant Grove High School.  So get your taxes done early!  We will help you get a clean start for New Year!
